Full Moon in Pisces

Sun in Virgo

Moon in Pisces

This axis is one of initiation.

The Chandra Symbol of this full moon as shared by Elias Lonsdale is: “Pagan Fire Worshippers Dancing - Trance states. At home in psychic realms and other realities. The self abandoned to the tribe--to the sweep of the moment, to the energies that arise. On fire with longing and poignant, bittersweet reflections. A throwback, a native, a primal soul. Emotional, depths-centered, superphysical, you are energized tremendously by special occasions, extraordinary meetings, unexpected miracles and tragedies. Expectant and waiting for something wild and unknown to break through. Mediumistic, vicarious, and charged with a life-force that must be followed out. A certain distinctive fate to be at times disappearing and gone and at other times resurgent and mighty--all depend upon the tides of fortune. And it will always change in unpredictable, exciting, disorienting, and multiple ways.”

This Pisces Full Moon is here to help balance the extra strong Virgo energy we have been experiencing this sun season.

Typically, Virgo wants to organize and detail everything to have a strong grasp on what is coming and how to manage it all for optimization. The Virgo Sun position at this full moon is actually asking us to keep surrendering who we think we are and folding deeper into ourselves to meet the part of ourselves that is wanting to emerge. It’s all such a deep well of transformation.

Pisces wants you to let go and surrender to all that is so you can receive the support of the invisible world beyond your wildest imagination and dreams.

All that is coming for us originates from within, even if it seems to be arriving from outside of us in the form of angels, synchronicities and messages from the Universe.

We are capable of so much more when we open to the infinite. This moon is here to remind us of that.

Both signs are mutable, meaning that they are wanting to inspire transformation that up levels your perceptions and existence. Virgo is the body, Pisces is the Soul. This full moon makes room for your Soul to emerge with a little more passion.

This Pisces Full Moon is whispering to us “When you focus so intently on one thing, you miss out on all the things. Widen your lens. Open your vision. Float away into that dreamy spacious awareness and open yourself to receive.”

Now here’s the thing. If we completely abandon the Virgo archetype, we’ll miss it because Neptune conjunct this full Pisces moon could encourage you to escape by any means possible. Neptune rules alcohol, pharmaceuticals and all modes of escaping and numbing out. When we hold on to the intentional action of Virgo as you allow yourself to slide into dream time or spacious awareness (the state of yoga nidra - also ruled by Neptune) you enter the void with purposeful intent to learn something relevant to help you progress along your path.

For my Yoga Nidra junkies — it’s like the difference between doing a yoga nidra practice with or without a Sankalpa.

The sun is joined by Mars, Venus and Mercury in Virgo, so we still have a potent stellum in Virgo helping us open to the mystery (pisces) with that detailed focus that helps us keep our heart on the goal (Virgo).

There is a grande square to Jupiter in Sagittarius here which is important to consider as Pisces is ruled by both Neptune and Jupiter. Jupiter is showing up in the challenging places asking you to stay present, to keep paying attention, even when you want to turn away, escape or numb. This attention and presence is your Tapas, or your Spiritual fire, that pushes you forward to get the most of the initiation that this full moon brings. And because it’s Pisces, there are likely to be strong emotions urging this transformation forward.

Give time to listen to your emotions and feel the sensations that come alive along with them. The discomfort, the chemical imprints, the frequency and form. Observing the sensory experience of the emotions rather than getting caught up in the story of the emotions is a sure way to keep them moving and preventing you from getting stuck. There is information in the emotional experience. Are you at a place where you can watch the emotions complete themselves? Or are you still fighting them, resisting them and stuffing them back in, leaving them to be processed at another time?

Transformation is rarely comfortable, yet most often worth it.

When Jupiter makes requests like this, when we follow through, we are rewarded. He’ll be sure to expand that which you are putting your attention on, no matter what it is. There will be teachings for you no matter which path you choose. One will be more pleasant in the long run than the other. I’ll let you figure that one out ;-)

With Pluto sextile the moon and trine the sun, the transformative powers of this moon are amplified. Basically at every turn, we are being shown that change is inevitable. Open to it now so you do it willingly rather than having it forced upon you later. This is living aware in this life.

Tomorrow both Venus and Mercury move into Libra, so our relational, communicative and commerce influences are going to change. Pay attention now so that you get to show up from your all time best self as you welcome the other. Saturn stations direct on Sept 18th after a nice long retrograde period. This will shift our ability to get things done and grant us a little reprieve in the deeply karmic work we have been playing out in our individual lives and get to move forward more aligned with our Dharma than ever before.

We also have some interesting social justice issues panning across political lines. While I’m not going to get into that now, know that we are going to need to step up on this front in new ways.

The Virgo Astro Nidra is a great day time practice for this Full Moon still.

Since Pisces is the dreamer and it's such a beautiful way to tap into the world beyond, widen your gaze and access your subconscious mind, I'm also recommending revisiting the Pisces Astro Nidra from Pisces Season called "The Dreamer" - it's a different practice as it is meant to be used at night, as you're heading into sleep space. The design is to witness yourself falling asleep, set dream intention and wake up inside of your dreams to harvest the wisdom for whatever you are expanding your wisdom about. Put a journal & pen by your bed so you can easily write down your dreams in the morning.

Both are in the subscription page, here is the Pisces Astro Nidra for everyone else!

Sending lots of love to you this Full Moon ~ I'm going to jump in the ocean!
